Welcome to the Loring PTO!

When your family joins the Loring School community, you become a part of the Loring PTO; a community of parents, teachers and school administrators joining together to enrich the educational and social experience of our students.  

 

Parent involvement is critical to our success and there are a number of ways to get involved. If you are interested in learning more about the different opportunities available please email our co-chairs Anne Devine and Melissa Perla.

 

Square 1 Art: Ordering Ends Tomorrow

Tomorrow (Friday, April 12th) is the last day to order Square1Art! No late orders will be accepted. 

Your child's custom catalog for the Square 1 Art fundraiser catalog should have been sent home featuring their own name and art on the cover, WITH FREE STICKERS OF THEIR ART! 

If you’d like to order online, search for your child's art using Art Search, and enter state, school name, and your student's name. Your student's art and code will appear, and you may order!

Scholarships are available. Please contact Karen Blumberg with questions.

Important information - If you are ordering for more than one child, please order for each child separately. Enter the first child’s information and on the next page you will see “add another child” before you checkout. 

1. Go to www.coffeepond.com

2. Go to order central and select yearbooks

3. Enter the password loring and select: on-line order and continue

4. Enter your child’s name, grade and the book quantity

5. Enter your email under Contact and select add to cart

6. If you have another child to order for, please select order for another child, if not, you can finish checking out 

*Please note: The option to select “Mail-in order forms” will be an option up to 1 week before the Online ordering due date.

5th Grade Families: Save the Date for Broomball

Attention 5th Grade Families!

We are getting excited for our annual Broomball event for our 5th graders and their families! Please see below for important details to SAVE THE DATE. 

What is Broomball? Broomball is a competition between the Loring Staff/Parents and the Loring 5th Graders.  It is a game like hockey but is played with corn brooms and a small ball. Participants play in gym socks (no sneakers)! 

When is it? Friday, May 17th, 5:00pm - 6:30pm 

Where is it? Our very own Loring Gymnasium!

Who plays? Fifth graders take on parents/caregivers/teachers! The more the merrier so please sign up to play!

Why? Because it's fun and a great way to end the school year!

How can I help? We are in need of players, as well as volunteers!  Be on the lookout for Sign up and Registration after April break!

PTO Executive Board Openings for 2024-2025

We are recruiting now for our 2024-2025 open Exec Board positions and would love for you to join our team!  Volunteering for the board is a rewarding experience as you have a direct impact on Loring and our students.  Beyond the fundraising, staff, education, and community support and connection, you have unique access and insight into both the Loring and SPS administration.  

Please reach out with any questions about time commitment or scheduling, we’d love to hear from you!


Vice Chair
 -  The Vice Chair works alongside and learns from the Chair to provide the overall leadership for all PTO activities. Serves on the Executive Board, works closely with the Principal and Vice Principal and district administration, and provides guidance and oversight to all committee coordinators. Two-year term. In the past this role has been filled by people with all work experiences and availability. The role is what you are able to make of it! 
Assistant Treasurer -  The Assistant Treasurer works alongside and learns from the Treasurer as the PTO’s chief financial officers. Primary responsibility is handling deposits. Two-year term.

Help Needed: Camp Fair Coordinators

We are currently looking for two people to fill the roles of Camp Fair Coordinators for the 2024-2025 School Year.  The Camp Fair coordinator is a position active from October through the end of January. The coordinators communicate with camps to arrange enrollment, build the online directory, run meetings with other Camp Fair team volunteers, and assist at the in-person event.  The majority of this role is done at home and on your own time.  Training and previous documentation will be provided - the new coordinators will be able to step right in!

Spring Cleaning? Don't Forget About Textile Recycling

Spring Cleaning?

Take advatage of our textile recycling bins! 

Bring your old textiles (clothing, bedding, towels, shoes, and even stuffed animals!) to the Bay State Textile Drop Box at Loring and earn money for our school.  Click here for a list of accepted items - it's more than you think!

The two Bay State Textile Drop Boxes are in the Loring parking lot near the basketball courts.  Please make sure your items are bagged and nothing is left on the ground. If you notice that the bins are full please let us know so we can schedule an immediate pickup.
